*Freezing* in Seattle

“Welcome to warm, tropical Seattle!”-our flight attendant upon landing.

Allie and I always celebrate our birthdays together with an “Anjallie Adventure Day” and this time, we decided to take advantage of winter break and make it into a whole weekend. So, we chose warm, tropical Seattle!

This was my first time in the PNW and I loved it—there were so many trees, vegan/vegetarian spots, plant shops, string lights, dogs, and of course, Grey’s Anatomy filming locations. Allie and I had so much fun exploring and being reunited after three weeks apart (a very long time since we see each other at least four times a week). Here’s what we did!

Saturday

5 PM: Kerry Park and the Grey’s Anatomy House

We touched down in the Emerald City, rented a car for the first time (we felt very adulty), and went straight to Kerry Park for a view of the skyline that’s always featured on Grey’s. It was so amazing to finally see it in real life!

Meredith Grey’s home was conveniently three minutes away, so we headed over there right after, along with four other girls, of course. People actually live here so please be respectful of the space! But with that said, go and live out your Grey’s dreams—the address is: 303 Comstock Street.

7 PM: Plum Bistro

The menu here is all vegan and all good. We split the gnocchi and tofu/black bean dish, and both were incredibly flavorful and filling.

8 PM: Frankie and Jo’s

We kept the vegan thing going with some vegan mint brownie ice cream! Vegan ice cream can definitely be a hit or miss, with some tasting too nutty or too creamy, but this cashew and coconut milk base was just right.

10 PM: Foreign National

We love a swanky bar with no signage! Allie and I were so glad that we rallied—we talked and laughed for hours until they closed.

Sunday

9 AM: Joe & The Juice

Honestly, a classic wherever I travel. I always get “Joe’s Green Mile” with extra lemon and ginger, and can’t stop, won’t stop.

10 AM: Yoga time at CPY

Hot yoga is always the best in cold weather, and as an instructor, it’s always fun to check out other studios and meet new friendly faces!

1 PM: Cafe Flora

The brunch line is very long, but there’s a plant shop down the street so all is well, right? I ordered a classic egg dish, and these eggs were super fluffy and filled with lots of garlic. They were so yummy and flavorful!

3 PM: Pike Place

I’ve been looking forward to going to the iconic Pike Place for awhile now, and it was so fun! There was so much going on everywhere--art stands, flower shops, lavender stands, you name it.

7 PM: Kizuki Ramen

IMG_2658.jpg

Such.good.ramen. It’s hard to find flavorful veggie ramen, but this one had a spicy kick and an option for kale noodles, so we were really thriving!

8 PM: Salt & Straw

IMG_2668.jpg

An Anjallie adventure is never complete without ice cream, so went to one of our favorites! I would recommend sampling the Beecher’s Cheese with Peppercorn Toffee—it sounds strange, but it’s surprisingly good.

9 PM: Whole Foods for some wholesome gals

We picked up face masks, headed home, and relaxed during our last night!

Monday

7 AM: Snow much fun

IMG_2681.jpg

Your fav California girls scraped off snow from the car for the first time, and then we headed over to Dahlia Bakery for one of our favorite meals. We had the Veggie Egg Sammy, looked outside at the little snowflakes, and were so happy with our last meal before the airport.

Seattle’s one of the coolest cities I’ve been to—and I’m not just talking about the weather. I love trees and greenery, and it was so beautiful to see that integrated into a city. Do you have any recs that I didn’t include on this list? Let me know in the comments!

Love always (smaller font).png
