Ready, Set, Grow
Happy June! I can’t believe that we’re already more than halfway through the year and that California has reopened. I knew we would start to go back to normal at some point, but it feels like such a strange transition now that we’re actually here. As we transition from spring to summer and as we go through varying degrees of transition in our personal lives, I wanted to use this time of change as our intention for yoga. Although transitions involve a sense of uncertainty in the future, which can naturally produce feelings of fear and anxiety, transitions are also necessary for growth. I’m currently in my early twenties and all of my friends have agreed that this decade has already been filled with many new changes. I feel like regardless of age though, the one thing that we know for certain in life is that change will happen. When we’re moving out of our comfort zone, we often focus on the things that can go wrong or question whether we made the right decision. I also try to consider this question though too: “What if it turns out even better than you could have ever imagined?” Growth can be messy and all over the place, but I also believe that we end up where we should be, which can be even better than what we expected. Transitions are a space between comfort zones and the unknown, and I’m looking forward to flowing this intention out in our upcoming yoga class. This will be our first in-person Yoga with Anjali class, which is already a transition from our typical virtual format! This in-person option is only available to vaccinated individuals at the moment. I’ll still be streaming class on Zoom though, so if you’re not vaccinated or local to Orange County, you’re still more than welcome to join us virtually. We’ll focus on transitions, being gentle with ourselves, and honoring what we need.
