Small Space, Big Vibes

Hi, friends! I just finished medical school finals (yay!!) and I’m loving this extra free time before my next block of classes starts. A majority of my classes are online, so I spend a good amount of time in my apartment. With that in mind, I intentionally created a peaceful space that would allow me to work productively and joyfully. My two bedroom apartment is around 640 sq. ft. as a whole and came unfurnished, so I had an added challenge of decorating my small space from nothing. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my parents and Sumit Uncle who all let me play designer and point to where I wanted my bed to be made, where my shelves would go, etc. haha. It made moving way more enjoyable and I’m so happy with how my room turned out! It’s exactly how I wanted it to be!

Work from Home, but Make It Cute

I love to decorate my space with plants! I feel like they bring so much light to a room and even make a small space seem larger. I’m also a strong believer that our energy flows where our intention goes. I place weekly intentions/quote prints on my shelf to serve as a reminder of what I’m striving for—an example is “trust the process.” When I’m watching a really tough lecture, it helps put everything into perspective! When I was planning out my room decor, I was aiming for a mix of whites and golds, but with a cozy, boho vibe. I feel like the rust tones bring a sense of grounding, and I’m continuing to add more of this whenever I see something that catches my eye.

The Most Important Class of the Day

This corner of my room reminds me to continue to set time aside for daily exercise! Exercise is often the first thing to go for many of us when life gets busy, but having a space in my room dedicated to it reminds me that exercise always uplifts my physical and mental energy. It’s a mandatory class in my books. I’m so grateful to have this lovely bike in my room that I can hop on in between classes as a study break. It allows me to plan out my day efficiently while still sparking joy and breaking a sweat.

Mindful Moments

This may just be my favorite spot of the room! After doing my skin care routine in the morning, I go straight to this cozy chair for a morning meditation. I later end my evenings by crossing my legs and getting comfy, drinking a cup of honey lavender tea, and journaling to the peaceful sounds of Evermore on vinyl.
